After an exhilarating transition season, including 4 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties, Morris Women’s Rugby find themselves traveling to Albany, NY this Saturday, May 6, 2017 to contest the Atlantic North NCR3 Championship and a National Quarterfinal.

Led by Captain Kelsi Bitgood, Vice Captains Elisa Cuellar and Emily Trent, and President Jessica Stecker, the women’s team has evolved this year, and they have worked incredibly hard to do so. Fitness, fundamental skills, and mental clarity have been the cornerstones of their success thus far. Their two most recent games, including  DI opposition (31-12 vs Village Lions & 52-22 vs Worcester Shamrocks) are testament to their effort, focus, and drive. They have time and again proved to themselves that they are beyond capable of competing at a high level.

Morris Rugby Corporation has a proud tradition of building honest teams that thrive on hard work. In the club’s 40th year, the “proof is in the pudding,” as for the first time the club has both Men’s and Women’s teams in the National Playoffs. This is just the beginning of a pattern of growth that will continue to see Morris Rugby thrive.

The women kick off at midday before the Men’s 2 pm game, at Dick Green Field in Albany, NY.
