Women’s Tackle-A-Thon Fundraiser Tomorrow
The women’s team are running a Tackle-A-Thon fundraiser during their match tomorrow vs Brooklyn. Pledge any amount per tackle, try, or kick (conversion/penalties) for a specific player. U14 Boys Still Recruiting for Current Season
It’s not too late to register players for the U/12U14 Boys spring 2023 season. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6–7:30 pm at Mennen. Calling All Morris Rugby Players From the 1980s!
On Saturday, May 6, 2023, there will be a 1980s Morris Rugby reunion after the Old Boys Palooza matches at Pocono field in Denville. The reunion will be held at the Dover Moose Lodge with food cooked by none other than Big Al. The BIG EVENT is ONLY for those who played for Morris Rugby: during the 80’s… Or 70’s… Or know someone who played.. Or are “old”…. Or ever heard of Morris Rugby. BUT THAT’S IT! Seriously, let’s all come together, catch up over a few beers, laugh at the memories and celebrate all Morris Rugby has become. Email your RSVP to Doug Ferris at [email protected]. Morris Rugby Prom Scheduled for May 12th
Registration is now open for a “Night Under the Stars” aka the Morris Rugby High School Prom! The 3rd annual event is Friday, May 12th from 6–10 pm at the Dover Moose Lodge. All Morris High School players are welcome; guests are also welcome but must be High School age. $40 per player includes DJ, food and fun. Register here. |

High School Girls Fundraising Campaign
Currently ranked #7 nationally in the USA, the HS Girls are fundraising for their current season. As the only established HS Girls rugby team in NJ, they regularly travel out-of-state to play competitive teams up and down the East Coast. Over the coming weeks they will attend Nationals in Asheville, NC in May and defend their 2022 Elite Girls Rugby League title at the Women’s Rugby Showcase East event in June. Youth Flag Registration Now Open for Summer 2023
Morris Rugby’s youth flag program is now registering kids entering Kindergarten through 9th grade. The flag season is run as a clinic from June 12th through July 22nd, with evening practices twice per week and Saturday morning games scheduled against neighboring towns. Marjorie Linares Hosting New Rugby Voices Podcast
Morris Rugby’s own Marjorie Linares—the U12/U14 Girls coach and a women’s team member—is the host of a brand new podcast! The Rugby Voices podcast is a collaborative effort between the US Women’s Rugby Foundation (USWRF) and the Elite Girls Rugby League (EGRL). Episode 3 was just released featuring former USA Eagle and current Head Coach for Dartmouth, U23 Eagles, and PR 7s Loggerheads, Katie Dowty. Listen in to hear what rugby has given her and take on her invitation to play for the JOY of rugby.

Speaking of podcasts, the HS Girls coaches and EGRL founders have been cranking out podcast episodes from the garage. The “Sappy Dads” talk about all happenings in the EGRL this spring season, including an interview with Jackie Finlan, founder of The Rugby Breakdown. Stream all 5 episodes so far on the EGRL Youtube channel. And, they have merch! |

Denville River Cleanup Scheduled for May 27th
Join us on Saturday, May 27th from 9 am–12 pm for the annual Denville river cleanup. We are lucky to play rugby at all levels almost year round at Pocono Field. Since the river floods our pitch annually, our efforts at the cleanup help the Denville community and ensure the quality of the field for years to come! Volunteer and support the Morris family and have some fun cleaning up the river. Meet at 9 am and wear long sleeves, long pants and bring gloves to protect against poison ivy! |

Renew Your Moose Membership Today
Our Moose family/board is looking to square up all overdue annual dues. All current Morris Moosers are asked to update their accounts before the fiscal year comes to a close this Sunday, April 30th. Either drop it in the mail, stop by the lodge and pay at the register with Alyssa, or go to the Moose website to pay. |
