The Morris Men’s pursuit of a National Championship took another step forward this past Saturday with a 28-22 win over Village Lions to claim the Empire GU Division 2 Championship.  It was a hard fought match between the league’s top two regular season teams.  Truly a back and forth affair, the match had three lead changes in the final 15 minutes of play.  In the end; the athleticism, fitness and cohesive team play proved too much for Village Lions as a try in the 78th minute sealed the victory for Morris.

Morris’ next challenge awaits in Albany, NY as we will face off with the three time defending New England Rugby Union Champions, Mystic River.  A win will capture the Atlantic North Championship and a birth in the National Quarterfinals in Pittsburgh, PA.

As we charge ahead on our run to a National Championship we ask for your continued support of the team.  The fan turnout at our playoff matches and the enthusiasm that you bring has brought an added layer of excitement and encouragement that we players feed off of immensely.  We hope to see you all this weekend in Albany!
