At Rugby New Jersey’s 2018 Awards Dinner a number of the Morris Lions High School Boys were recognized. This year four boys were selected at each level to represent New Jersey in the Northeast Regional Cup Tournament (RCT), playing against select sides from Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and DC.

Congratulations to the following players:
Tier 1 (Juniors & Seniors): Akil DeBruhl, Liam Andersen, Will Lerouge and Dilsher Maini
Tier 2 (Freshmen & Sophomores): Will Hogan, John Zeich, Sumer Maini and Gianluca Birnbaum

 

The Tier 1 team would have also included a fifth Morris representative had Jonathan Mitchell not pulled a hamstring in the act of scoring during a warm up game the Tuesday before the tournament against a High School team from Dublin, Ireland. Commiserations to Jonathan.

The 2018 Rugby New Jersey All State Team Boys Blue Division was announced at the awards dinner with once again four Lions recognized amongst the best in their positions:

Flanker – Akil Debruhl
Eight Man – Liam Andersen
Fly Half – Dilsher Maini
Winger – Jonathan Mitchell.
