Here’s the latest news from the Board of Trustees

Important dates

  • Saturday Mar 1 – Big Brew Festival (See below).
  • Saturday & Sunday, March 8-9. Week four of the Six Nations Tournament.
  • Saturday, March 15. Final Day Six Nations Tournament.
  • Saturday, March 15 – Irish Feast Dinner and Silent Auction at the Moose. (See below)
  • Saturday, March 29 – Men’s Team’s first match of the Spring season. Opponent is TBA. More information here.
  • Saturday, April 5 – Rugby Triple Header. Tribute to Troy Bartley and Mental Health Awareness at Flanders Swim and Sport Club – location: 272 Emmans Road, Flanders, NJ 07836
  • Women’s Team hosts Princeton Athletic Club for their first match of the Spring season. More information here.
  • Men’s Team hosts Long Island.
  • Morris Masters host a Rugbypalooza

Fundraiser for Scottish Kate

A member of the Morris Rugby community. Kate Wise, known to many as Scottish Kate, suffered the loss of her home due to a fire on February 15.

Six Nations Rugby Tournament Watch Parties!

Once again, Morris Rugby will be hosting watch parties at the Dover Moose Lodge 541,

21 Sammis Ave, Dover, NJ. (Superbru info is below the list of matches for those who are interested)

Through the first three rounds it’s been, as always, an interesting and often exciting tournament.

As of this writing, Ireland is in the driver’s seat having won 3 out of 3, but they play France, who have won two of three, on March eighth.

England, with two wins, and Scotland and even Italy with one win each, are still in the hunt.

Wales will try desperately to at least gain one win and maintain hope they’ll avoid the wooden spoon.

Saturday Round 4 $10 per person. High School $5. Grade 8 and under free.

Sunday $5 per person. Free if paid Saturday.

Includes coffee and light snacks. Hot food available for purchase.

Saturday Round 5 March 15th $20 per person, High School $5, Grade 8 and under free. $30 per couple (spouse or significant other) $40 max per family. Includes hot food – Irish/English Breakfast. Various Lunch items including Cottage Pie.

Morris Masters visit Japan.

Twenty-plus Morris Masters Players, Former Players, Wannabe Players, Rugger-huggers and one offspring visited Japan in February to play a match against friends of our teammate,Takuya Shimomura (aka Sakeman) and spread good will.

The team preserved the its perfect record while playing outside the US by winning the afterparty.

Next up in the Morris Masters travel calendar: The Twelfth(?) Annual, Once-Once-in-a-Lifetime, Never-to-be-Repeated Weekend in Ireland sometime this fall.
