Volunteers Needed for 2nd Annual MAWRS
Mark your calendars for a huge weekend of girl’s and women’s rugby on June 11th and 12th in Clinton, NJ. The Mid-Atlantic Women’s Rugby Showcase (MAWRS) includes 2 days of exciting matches and coach/player/parent chats with college scouts from top programs. The weekend includes:

Volunteers Needed to Join 45th Anniversary Gala Planning Committee
Morris Rugby’s 45th Anniversary Gala has been booked for Friday, November 18th at the Mountain Lakes Club. Help us make this the best gala yet! The first planning meeting will be Monday, May 16th at 7 pm. We need your help with decorations, menu, guest speakers, a new hall of fame initiative, and much more! Youth Flag Registration Now Open for Summer 2022
Morris Rugby’s youth flag program is now registering kids entering Kindergarten through 9th grade. The flag season is run as a clinic from June 13th through July 23rd, with evening practices twice per week and Saturday morning games scheduled against neighboring towns. Youth Flag Referees Needed
Applications are now open for referees for our youth flag matches on Saturday mornings from June 18th until July 23rd. Referee experience not required! (Returning referees are particularly needed for Eagle level.) A minimum of three weeks refereeing is guaranteed. Starting payment for new referees is $40 per Saturday. Successful applicants are required to attend two training sessions to be held on Monday, June 6th and Wednesday, June 8th before the season begins. Apply now via TeamSnap! 17 Current/Former Morris Players Selected for Tropical 7s
Over Easter weekend last month, seventeen Morris players traveled to Tampa, FL to play for various elite teams at Tropical 7s, one of the world’s leading youth rugby sevens tournaments. Masters Host Successful Palooza at Pocono
Morris Masters saw a great turnout for their palooza at Pocono field on Saturday, April 30th. No serious injuries and lots of great rugby!! Thanks to PJ Miller for the delicious post-palooza spread at the Moose. Next Match: Last palooza of the season will be on Saturday, May 21st hosted by Bayonne. If you’re over 35 and looking to stay in the game, come out and join us! |

Middle School Girls Go Undefeated at Ruggerfest
The U12/U14 girls had a dominant showing at Ruggerfest in DC on April 30th–May 1st, winning all of their round robin matches. Congratulations girls!! Next Match: Saturday, May 14th at 10 am vs Doylestown at Pocono |

High School Girls Crowned Ruggerfest Champions
Huge congratulations to the HS girls who went undefeated at Ruggerfest with a total points differential of 156-10 across all matches. They scored an impressive 59 unanswered points in the final against State College. Next Match: Friday, May 13th at 6:30 pm vs Play Rugby USA on Randall’s Island |

High School Boys Win CBA tournament
The High School Boys defeated Christian Brothers Academy 19-7 and St. Peter’s Prep 29-19 at the CBA rugby tournament on Sunday, May 1st. Great work boys!! Next Match: Sunday, May 15th away at Bridgewater |

Women’s Team Kicks Off Short and Sweet Season
Morris Women opened their spring season on May 7th with a round robin between hosts Philadelphia, Village Lions, and a few Wilmington players. 4 new women’s players debuted in their first-ever rugby match! Next/Last Match: Saturday, May 14th at 11 am vs Village Lions at Pocono |

Men’s Team Revved Up for Mario Kart Bar Crawl
Morris Men are hosting a Mario Kart Pub Crawl on Saturday, May 14th in Morristown. Based on the iconic game, costumes are heavily encouraged as racers compete to win each course. Rules and challenges ensure there’s never a dull moment as we celebrate the arrival of summer! $10 entry, includes drink deals. The race starts at Horseshoe Tavern at 7:30 pm. |

Rugby New Jersey Announces HS Boys All-Star Tournament Hosted by Rugby New York
Rugby NJ will be fielding a team at the HS Boys All-Star Tournament on Saturday, June 11th at JFK Football Stadium in Hoboken, NJ. Rugby NY will be scouting at the tournament to identify players for their academy team to play other MLR academies. Coaching staff includes Bogdan Morariu, Ryan (Tree) Murphy and Anna Gildea from Union; Brian Sheehy and Tom Meehan from CBA; and Connor Hochman from St. Augustine. The coaching staff will watch and scout players at the Rugby NJ Championship Weekend May 28-29th, 2022.
