We had a fantastic turnout last week for the opening round of the 2022 Six Nations. The crowd at the Moose thoroughly enjoyed Ireland’s dominant performance against Wales, Scotland securing the Calcutta Cup for the second year in a row, and France’s victory over Italy.

Week two fixtures include Wales v Scotland at 9:15 am on Saturday, followed by France v Ireland—without an injured Johnny Sexton—at 11:45 am. Italy takes on England at 10 am on Sunday.

Rugby New Jersey’s annual College Fair and Combine is just 2 days away! High school athletes—don’t miss this opportunity. There are less than 15 spots left—sign up now via the Google form.

There are 4 volunteer spots left for the 4:45 pm time slot at the Big Brew Beer Festival at the Morristown Armory. Regular tickets to the event are over $60—but volunteers get in free! Sign up now via SignUp Genius.

Mark your calendar: Morris Rugby’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday, February 27th from 12:30 pm at the Dover Moose Lodge after the Ireland v Italy round three Six Nations match.

All players, coaches, program admins, volunteers, family and friends of Morris Rugby are invited to come hear about what’s happening with the corp. Hope to see you there!

Since the start of the new year, the High School Girls have been training—and fundraising!—hard for Charlotte Ruggerfest (March 5-6th) and the inaugural season of the Elite Girls Rugby League (EGRL). Current HS and U14 practices are scheduled for:

• Mondays from 6-7 pm at the Center Court Mount Olive bubble
• Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm at Veterans Memorial Field on Zeek Road
• Saturdays (milder weather permitting) from 10-11:30 am at 668 First Ave, Raritan, NJ

The Morris Men’s team have kicked off their winter training sessions with Coach Karl. Join the team every Tuesday & Wednesday night from 9-10:30/11 pm at Center Court Morristown, 65 Columbia Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960. Women’s team players are also invited to join the men’s sessions.

High School Boys’ practices commence this Saturday, February 12th from 10-11:30 am at Veterans Park in Parsippany. Then, (starting Wednesday 2/16/22) the boys will be training every Monday & Wednesday from 6-7:30 pm at Veterans Memorial Field on Zeek Road. Their spring season home opener is scheduled for Sunday, February 27th vs. Doylestown.
