Congratulations to Logan Robson who was presented with the Willie Blumberg Memorial Award on Thursday, June 11, 2020 by John Sutherland.

The Willie Blumberg Memorial Award acknowledges a senior player from the High School boys program, voted on by his peers, for having given his all at training and each match; for being an active member of the club who has shown exemplary sportsmanship; and for personifying a great all-around player and individual.

In 2003, the family of one of the Lions founding members, David Levin, wanted to dedicate an award to the living memory of his uncle, Willie Blumberg. In his youth, Willie, like many South Africans, enjoyed playing school rugby and, in his later years, was an equally avid armchair supporter. It is for these reasons that the Levin family was motivated to dedicate the award to a Morris Lion as a way of honoring the memory of David’s late Uncle.
