John Zeich Named to 2020 USA Rugby Men’s Under-20 Team
Morris’ own John Zeich was recently named one of two hookers on USA Rugby’s 2020 Men’s Under-20 team.
This honor is the latest addition to an increasingly impressive rugby resume for the graduating senior at Lenape Valley Regional High School.
As a junior on the Morris High School Boys team, John competed for the Rugby New Jersey Varsity Boys All Stars and was named All State loosehead prop in the D1 Club division. He was also named to Rugby United New York’s inaugural U23 Academy Forwards in 2019.
Last summer, John also worked as a Morris Youth Flag rugby referee. And recently, John has suited up for NYAC Rugby alongside his father, Adam Zeich.
USA Rugby’s Under-20s competition schedule originally included the inaugural Men’s U20 Americas Rugby Championship, which has been postponed due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
In the event the ARC cannot be held later this year, USA Rugby High Performance will seek alternative competitions, in line with World Rugby’s return to play protocol, to give all athletes an opportunity to represent the United States.
